Why don't you ask your friends about Santorum? Let them make it official.

I will be voting Republican this coming fall unless something unexpected like Armageddon happens between now and November. The point that is being made is not that we (the evos here) are going to start voting Democrat because of Republicans who push creationism in the schools. The point is that it will drive OTHER people to the democrats, people who are straddling the middle and are not sure who to vote for. It certainly won't be driving anybody TO the Republican party. The Dover example is a warning.
When we (the evos here; I have to point this out before I get accused of multiple personalities by those who never heard of the rhetorical we) point out a Republican school board getting voted out for pushing ID, in a Republican area, we are demonstrating what will happen nationally if Republicans continue to go down this road. WE don't want it to happen. The other side (Democrats) are just as bad when it comes to science, and far worse on the core conservative issues: taxes, foreign policy, immigration, limited government.
The more the Republicans push creationism/ID, the more marginalized they will become, and the good things that Republicans stand for will be overlooked and lost.
