On the topic of academic fraud, the man pictured in this thread is named
Hwang Woo-Suk, and was a notable researcher at Seoul National University before admitting to fabricating research and falsifying records in his stem cell research. The link is to Wikipedia, which has a relatively good article on him. He name also turns up a good many search engine hits. From reading this article, and other, it would seem there were indications of problems with his methods going back as far as 1999-2000.
Professional ethics are a huge part of science and engineering. It's somewhat sad to hear people say they believe fraud is the norm, rather than the exception, and downright disturbing to hear people make claims that evidence is "suppressed" by some sort of conspiracy. It is pertinent to say people go to great lengths to prevent this sort of dishonesty, and that it is the scientific community itself who discovers these frauds.

It's far, far easier to claim that a conspiracy exists than to actually provide evidence for said conspiracy. Conspiracy theories are a dime a dozen.

Oh No! Don't say someone has found out that we are conspiring to suppress all the evidence against evolution. Whadda we gonna do? I say rub out the schmuck before he tells anyone.
Wait a minute, if he says it is unfalsifiable, not only is there no evidence against it, but there can be no evidence against it by definition. The guy's just some poor drunk; move along folks. Nothing to see here.
