I am waking up this thread because I have seen and eard the most fantastic talent perhaps ever. She is only 11 years old and has a voice bigger than you can possibly imagine.

She was on "America's Got Talent" which is the 21st Century "Gong Show" but they have a few great acts.

I didn't get her name but she was amazing. If they would let her perform on AI she would have kicked everyone's butt, including Taylor's. She sang a VERY difficult song with huge key changes and knocked it through the rafters.

I literally got goosebumps.

If anyone caught her name, please let me know. This little girl is potentially the Judy Garland of her generation. She is the real deal.

We had goosebumps together. How 'bout that? LOL I saw that girl perform too. She was incredible. What an amazing voice she has. That girl is going to go far!! ;o)

And, had she been able to compete, should would have walked away with AI (although, given Mandissa's early exit you have to wonder if AI cares about the music).

I was surprised when Mandisa was voted off too, but the AI fans voted her off. I think her weight was held against her, because that girl can sing. It wasn't her voice. IMO.

Yes, her weight was held against her. To be a little fair, AI is about "star potential."

In our society, Guys can be big (Ruben), but not womem -- with the possible exception of Queen Latifah.

On Scarborough's show tonight, he showed video of the crowds lined up in Pasadena to audition for American Idol--Season Six! It's creeping up on us.

There was a long thread on the AI boards titled "Let's Write A Cheesy Coronation Song" that was hilarious yet actually quite good. Most of the intentionally contrived songs were ten times better than My Destiny and only took the posters about 3 minutes to come up with. Maybe TPTB figured out that it would be a whole lot cheaper to come up with a much better song.

I hope and pray that in 5 years, we will still see Chris Daughtry as the stand-up guy he appears to be now. How does one stay grounded in the midst of what he has been through in the last year, and will go through in the next few? I will be eagerly watching what will surely be his career successes.
