I didn't find this thread until I think more then half way through the last seasonThere's a reason for that--last year's thread didn't start until half way through the season :)

No question that the voting public is easily swayed by what the judges say. Over the Rainbow was awful.
I started getting hopeful that Elliot wasn't going to be eliminated when i saw the turn outs for him and katherine. Big difference. I'm glad for him, he deserved it.

Elliott is not AI material. His songs tonight just don't reflect mass market appeal but rather they appeal to people with taste in music and he's happy with that. You know, I still think if more people knew what he did with the arrangements, they would be blown away.
And I think, with all of them, true talent is hidden on this show.
In Kat's case it's the clothing, etc.
In Taylor's case, it's the dancing and showmanship.
In Elliott's case, it's his lovely humility and graciousness.
Those are the things people remember.
If they wanted to have a show about singing and music, they would have killed Bandzilla a long time ago and knocked off the dressing up of Kat.
Instead, it's more of a musical Jerry Springer.

"No question that over the rainbow put Kat over the top, but barely"

So true about Elliott. The last popular singer I can remember who had that humility and graciousnss was Perry Como.

YES! I want to see that. By the way did you hear him today talking about Katharine sitting on the floor? it was hysterical..... I just don't like her.
To: over3Owithabrain
I'm suspicious about those vote numbers ... It's in AI's best interest to make this a horse race with a photo finish. I just can't believe that Taylor was that close to McPhee.

I listened to last nights audio today.(missed the show last night) Elliott just sounded.....tired.
Anxiety and exhaustion can have a tremendous affect on the blood sugar of a person with diabetes.
TBS, I don't want to dwell on Elliott's physical drawbacks, I'm so glad he has a great future now. On HIS terms.

YOU have to watch for it. We rewound the tape to make sure. But the soldiers were holding the flag, so he took his hat off for that, looked at the one in the middle and mouthed thank you. I crumbled. :)

Well, it was easy to get confused because the AI elimination was happening at about the same time that TAR results came out. I had to follow the link back from your reply to the post with the TAR results to figure out what you were talking about, because you COULDN'T have been talking about this thread.
Anyway, glad I could help. Kiss, kiss. :-D
Now back to the DUFUs!

Kat will get no props when Taylor is announced as the winner. E got a good send off and generated some tremendous good will. Very good point. If Elliot was going to be eliminated, it was better that he go this week. Next week will be all about Taylor.
