Christianity is the one and only faith where the Holy One actually gives to his faithful instead of takes. He gave his Son, and he gave his grace and only asks that we believe in him. From that he knows we will do what is right, will act and behave as we should, and follow his example, because his spirit then dwells within us.
In all other faiths, the “god” figure makes demands, takes from their followers then tells them they may or may not see heaven. Their “god” basically says “here's a list, get these things done and I may let you in”. Their “god” is a greedy one, and the only other spiritual entity with any real power out there in reality is the evil one himself. He is the one who is always interested in taking, ultimately the very souls themselves. Who then would be the entity in charge of these other faiths, the ones that like to “take” from their adherents...
Good post! It reminds me of a true story re: C. S. Lewis. He was late for a meeting of Oxford dons, and when he arrived he asked what the big argument was about. A colleague informed him that the dons were trying to define what most differentiated Christianity from other religions. Lewis said, “Oh, that’s easy. Grace.”
Well put!
AMEN.
