Excellent Ruby!! You have just shown that even before the Independence Declaration in December 1963, Kenya was referring to itself as a REPUBLIC.

And it’s the London Times no less.

I think this settles the Republic of Kenya issue. At least in my opinion, which isn’t really worth much I guess. lol

It's a bona fide opinion, AR. I did some research last night, and found that Kenya joined the UN the minute that they were independent, and began making treaties and trade agreements with other nations as well. There was also some speeches from the English house of Lords, I think, about how Kenyan citizens would no longer be considered British at birth.

Anyway, the gist is, they hit the ground running fully prepared to become a Republic, they just had to finalize their constitution.
