I believe she’s wasting her time in London - better to keep going and fly to Kenya. Colonial birth records were not forwarded to the UK. Colony of Newfoundland records for example were kept in St John’s Newfoundland - and not forwarded. Even in the UK there is no central repository. Birth records for Scots are kept in Edinburgh not London. Similarly in the USA - records are kept at the local registry level (ie: by each state) and not at a central Washington registry.

Most government documents in NZ and Australia are also registered in the UK

I could get the same docs from London for myself and my family and they never went near England

The Archives are better in the UK than in the original countries..

I believe just before Kenya became a Republic records were in fact taken to England.
