OK I stand corrected...

Did Mombasa have this technology ???

Did they use it for officail documents ???

I think StanleY Ann would have needed a clear doc to show the judge...

Why would the fact that there was such technology abate the possiblity that the document was just typed ???

The doc was probably clearer 45 years ago. I am old enough to remember typing on manual typewriters with carbon sets.

I never changed the ribbon unless I couldn’t read it anymore(lol).

There is nothing wrong with the presentation of the document relative to type appearance.

My guess is they just simply typed the information off the BC for the certified copy each time one is needed.

The other reason to type its because it is the form for a certified copy. I guess they could have ran a copy of the BC and have it re stamped and signed but that would be sloppy plus would bypass the procedures of giving out certified copies.

Administrative functions like to have a proper paper trail. If they didn’t use a certified form that they could not assign a number to it, then they could not keep up with the activity of that function, i.e giving out certified copies on request.

My guess is 47044 is the number of the certified copy.

I had to get some copies of bc’s here just a few weeks ago. One the ones I needed certified, they hand typed the info on a fancy bells and whistles form and stamped and sealed it. I should add that there was more info than the Kenyan and tons more than the Hawaiian and it filled the page. The ones I wanted a copy of but didn’t need to be certified were just xeroxed and stamped (apparently there are 2 levels of verification of info here and to me the cheapie xeroxed one is more “real” but whatever). But my point is, it doesn’t matter so much what technology they had available, but how they were required by law or by tradition to do things.
