Was your mother there when you were born?

Would there be any occasion that you could imagine that would cause her to feel a need to state that she was present at your birth?

Mama Sarah was not Obama Sr.’s Mother. She was like the 3rd wife or so of Sr.’s father. Someone else in this thread figured out that if she was present at Obama Sr’s birth she would have only been about 12 years old or so.

I guess plausible, but highly doubtful.
