Yesterday, thousands of bikers descended upon Washington, D.C., for the annual Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally. The rally is an annual demonstration that was started in 1987 to bring attention to the plight of prisoners of war and to those service people missing in action. Among the riders? Sarah Palin. Decked out in a black jacket, big shades, and a Harley-Davidson helmet the Mama Grizzly transformed herself into a Motorcyle Mama for the day to join them in the cause.
Palin was joined at the rally by her husband Todd (forever riding the metaphorical sidecar) and her two daughters, Bristol and Piper. She rode on the back of one motorcyle, Bristol rode on the back of another, and Todd drove his own bike with Piper on the back.
That's right. Sarah Palin let her 10-year-old daughter Piper Palin on a motorcycle.
Are you kidding me?
Motorcycles can be fun and exhilarating to ride -- I've done it. But they can also be dangerous and are known for their ability to kill and maim, even the most skilled riders. A motorcycle is no place for a 10-year-old. It makes no difference that Piper was wearing a helmet, that the bike may have been "going slow," and that she wasn't the one driving it. She's way too young to be introduced to such a dangerous activity.
Once again Sarah Palin put her own PR in front of her her children's needs and safety. But that's not so surprising. After all, don't mama grizzlies eat their young?

At age 12 I had my own street bike, no helmet, and it was my personal vehicle for school, etc., my only one until I turned 14 and got a 55 Chevy (with no seatbelts of course).
I feel sorry for people who have absolutely no perspective other than their own little world and their pathetic little experience.
Amen to that! I grew up on a ranch and we did all sorts of fun things that people like her would never be capable of relating to. To hell with her and her ilk.
Why doesn’t Ms. Murray just mind her own f’n business?
I sold my Honda Trail 70 a few years ago, but (don’t laugh) I very often had two kids on it with me when we rode around the neighborhood... unhelmeted. Anyone who thinks I don’t worry about the health and safety of my kids can bite me. Anyone who thinks Palin doesn’t care about her kids is grasping at straws. No one really thinks that. The media frenzy is fascinating though. Is it possible that they don’t understand how they are being played? Palin is a genius.
That would be "rode", not "drove". The woman clearly has no idea what she's talking about.

Lady, you have to go to Thailand. There are whole families on a 125 cc motorbike. Not only that but there is virtually no ‘lane discipline’ in the smaller towns.
I suspect that the bike never got over 25 mph.
My grandkids got their first dirt bikes at 9, courtesy of Grandpa. They also four wheel and have been taught to safely handle and fire weapons appropriate to their age. If this lady came to my house in the summer she’d have a heart attack.
This communist frets about a kid in a motorcycle, but probably doesn’t bat an eye if a young girl goes in for an abortion. Hypocritical scum.
