Grant owned slaves until 1863.....Lee freed his in 1862. Some of the South seceded to protect their slave interests. However.....Virgina, Arkansas, Tennessee, and NC didn’t secede UNTIL April AFTER Lincoln called up troops to INVADE his own country. Again. Right? Wrong?
