Suze Orman: If You Know A Gay Person, Vote For Obama [VIDEO]
The Jane Dough ^ | May 14, 2012 | Amy Tennery

Posted on 05/15/2012 10:22:12 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Suze Orman, personal finance guru and Chancellor Of Extremely Tough Love, stopped by The View today for a wide-ranging discussion that included, unsurprisingly, a conversation about President Obama’s recent announcement in support of gay marriage. Orman, herself openly gay and happily married, shared her reaction to Obama’s statement — and gave an emotional plea for more support for gay marriage.

The segment, of course, was not without some awkward moments. The worst of which, perhaps, was when Barbara Walters choked out the sentence “you are married to your [insert 5-second pause here] wife?” with the same tone with which someone might ask “you own… 58 pet iguanas?”

“Is that hard to say?” Orman responded, somewhat stunned. Can’t say we blame her for wondering.

“No, I had to think of the right word,” Walters explained.

Mmm. Moving on.

And what did Orman think when she heard the president announce his support for same-sex marriage?

“I thought I was going to die of happiness on the spot. You know, I’m going to be 61 in June. And in my entire life I never thought — during my lifetime — that I would see that this even beginning to be a possibility.”

Of course, when View co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck noted that Obama sort of, well, put same-sex marriage back on the states to figure it out for themselves, Orman didn’t mince words, arguing that “It has to go to the federal level. It absolutely has to.”

And then, the kicker:

“It’s an emotional issue, it’s a financial issue. And it’s an issue that I really hope — if you know a gay person, if they’re your mother your children, your cousin, your employee, your employer, I don’t care, your dog walker — I’m asking you all to vote for President Obama and make this a reality.”

She is a person that has no core beliefs and is not able to reconcile that many of the very economic issues that she complains about is not being resolved by more action by government. She says some good things, but most often it is drowned out in her next statement.

She is not very good at “teaching” because she does not have the heart of a teacher. She prefers to just TELL someone what to do and it is evident that her viewers don’t “get it,” by most callers. Especially during her “can I afford it” segment.

She is a typical Liberal. She complains about economic growth, yet would still vote for Obama because he “says” something that makes her feel good. She is a fool.

“And her advice is little more than common sense: pay off debt; max annual payments to 401(k); live within means.”

That is close, but it is not her advice. She is more concerned about the FICO score than any of the above. She IS fine with financing the purchase of a car with credit. She is OK with using your ROTH contributions as your emergency fund, she is OK with carrying student loan debt, car debt, etc and making more purchases as long as you have “8 months in your savings.”\

It is like she takes your advice half way to success and then gets distracted by a shiney object and starts talking about something else. Just like she complains about our society not pushing for personal responsibiity (being truthful to ourselves) then she advocates voting for Obama.

Yes I watch her every week for the entertainment factor and to continue to support my decision to take advice from her competition.

All of what you mentioned has been the accepted norm for at least the last 50 years.

I wonder if Orman was ever married to a man in her life.

Just look where that has gotten us! ;-)

It is also why Dave Ramsey’s “advice is what your grandmother used to say, but he keeps his teeth in.”

Yeah, personal success. Too bad that's frowned upon these days.

You know that is absolutely right. There is no reason why they cannot go to a lawyer and form some kind of legal “union” much as heterosexual couples do when they draft prenuptual agreements. Gays can list all of the requirements such as hospital visitation rights, funeral arangements, wills, bank accounts etc. They can do this all at once in a lawyers office.

Clinton began this “queering of America” when he became president and you can expect that any other Democrat president will continue on the road to queer Oz.

Worshiping at the altar of FICO, buying things on credit, using retirement investments as emergencies arise and buying stupid crap is what brought your personal success? I doubt it. I’d bet that acting your wage, aggressively getting rid of debt, not buying things on credit and living like no one else has brought you personal success.

Suze is a couple of steps short of actually leading to success. It’s like going on a diet, but still eating only 2 donuts every day!

Yes, I eagerly lap up all of the personal finance theories I can find and I know of 1 system that will not fail. See my tag for more details.

As another poster said, Suze sees everything through her libtard politics spectrum, which is what is preventing her from actually taking the final steps.

Maybe her sexual orientation is why she was elevated to a high position in the media. I think we are probably seeing the takeover of institutions by the gays much as the commie/libs worked for years to place their own into the colleges, media, Hollywood etc. Gays, I believe will always favor other gays and try to elevate them into positions of power and influence. Imagine going before a gay judge. We must tell people we know that a vote for the Democrats is a vote for the disempowerment of the majority.

Consider the Rainbow coalition. Who makes up the Rainbow Coalition? Gays, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and feminists. Everyone who is not the majority. They have formed a cobbled together false coalition to take down the majority.

Worshiping at the altar of FICO ... is what brought your personal success?
Surely you jest - I never indicated anything of the sort.
My point remains, the advice by all of today's "experts" is nothing different than what our parents taught us 50 years ago.

You are missing my point, which is that Suze falls short of giving advice that does lead to success. I’ve thought that I have been missing part of her system, so I have done a ton of follow up and found that this is true.

You think I was jesting about “worshiping at the altar of FICO” and I was not. She is endoresed by FICO, gets money from them and discusses improving the FICO score in almost every show.

You have probably had personal finance success and I congratulate you for your hard work, however it WAS NOT by following Suze’s advice. It was, as you say, by following common sense principles that reputible financial counselors espouse. Suze IS NOT a common sense financial counselor.

She can get people about 70% there, so your success was by going that extra step on your own.

“if you know a gay person...I’m asking you all to vote for President Obama and make this a reality”

huh? As if all gay people support gay marriage. Or as if simply knowing a gay person means you want what that gay person may or may not want. More laughable still is how they lump not only male and female homos together, and if you’ve ever observed them in the wild you wouldn’t say they belonged together, but also bisexuals and gender benders. What they have to do with gays, anbd why they’d also necessarily want gay marriage, I have no idea.

Look, I understand identity politics. I understand grouping people together to multiply their power. I understand pretending everyone who fits certain criteria think alike. Sometimes it’s true, in that 95% of blacks actually think and vote like Democrats, or at least black Democrats. But other times it’s ridiculous. I can hardly think of a group less favorably inclined to marriage than gay men, all ancillary political considerations aside. Unless you went out of your way to group together 16 year old males, or something.

What I’m saying is, I suppose, this didn’t come along naturally. There’s no spontaneous push from gays en masse for homosexual marriage isolated from larger concerns. They didn’t want their hangouts raided by cops, sodomy to be illegal, and not to be allowed to teach children. To do this, they had to convince everyone first consenting adults should be able to do as they choose in private. Then it was that there’s nothing wrong with being gay, anyway, in private or not. For that to be true, they had to join with all manner of pervisty, except pedophilia. Thus we see gays, bisexuals, transgenders, etc. lumped together, though obviuously they have nothing to do with eachother besides having been considered perverse.

Once they got those concessions, though, it had to be whole hog. Being gay couldn’t be benignly neglected nor normalized. It had to be openly and explicitly accepted. No, more, it had to be equal to that other special class of people who have sex with eachother. Well, some of them’d like to get married, file joint taxes, visit eachother in the hospital, etc. But most think, apart from whether they want ever to get married, the public must accept their relationships as of equal status to “breeders.”

But even so, not all gays need gay and straight sex to have equal status in the eyes of the community. Political gays and their allies only pretend so.

Its pretty clear that the Left is trying to deify homosexuality. What they dont realize is that these smear type tactics to advance their cause most always backfire.
