Hardly.
Ryan's budget went nowhere. The President sets the spending in this country. Obama and Bush are the most recent proof of that. In a Romney-Ryan Administration, Romney will set the budget goal, Ryan will generate the President's budget and submit it to the House for Rubber Stamping. Trust me. That's the way it will be. Ryan is our best hope for that budget being something we can live with.
Of course Ryan’s budget went nowhere. But you need to keep someone there that is at least a proponent of rationality.
No, that's how you want it to be. Romney could and would submit his own budget and there isn't a damned thing that Ryan could say or do about it. I've never understood the emphasis that some place on the vice presidency. The veep carries out the policies of the president, not the other way around.
Agree with post 14, with Paul Ryan in the White House VP office a few steps from Romney in the Oval Office, a conservative spin on our national budget is more likely to happen than if Ryan stays in the in the House of Representatives.
God willing enough Tea Party candidates get elected / hold their seats to keep Romneys feet to the fire.
