One of the unexplained mysteries in the scanty documentation of the early life of the 45th President of the United States is the appearance of the name Soebarkah as his last name on an official document filled out by his mother.

Seems to me like a cross between meditation and speaking in tongues: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latihan

Oh, ok. I am sure cocaine is not a healthy thing up the nose or any other way! Sorry.

In the 70’s in Australia, I was part of a group attempting to describe, while engaged under the control of a psychiatrist, the visions reported by some people under hypnosis or the influence of illicit drugs.
Apparently, there’s very little difference. Myself and other members of the group experienced some profoundly ‘spiritual’ visions, no doubt the result of our learning about religion from childhood.
The general practice of this type of deep meditation was popularly named as ‘transcendental meditation’ and/or ‘out of body experiences...also ‘astral travel’.

I personally ‘visited’ several foreign places and some of these ‘visits’ were during ancient times. It really is amazing what the mind is capable of. We never left our cozy places on the couch or the floor where we were lying, but described in vivid detail where we were, what we saw, who we spoke to, what they replied...as if we were part of the scene as if in a film.

I’ve ‘met’ a number of historical figures, and was able to carry on a conversation with them...it’s really more like lucid dreaming, but magnified.

Now there certainly would have been a number of ‘gurus’ who took advantage of this phenomenon, and Subuh, a sufi muslim from Indonesia would have been laughing up his sleeve. The Beatles made transcendental meditation a household word.

Where-as our efforts were part of an attempt to understand the influence of drugs on the brain, as the psychiatrist was working with a drug rehabilitation team, the motive of your average ‘guru’ is the usual - money and fame.

They never lack for followers. The more things appear to change, the more they stay the same. And btw, I’ve never taken anything more than asprin in my life.

If you like to read, you might enjoy ‘The Cocaine Fallacy’ it’s about Sigmund Freud, a cocaine addict and the numerous operations he had on his nose. Plus his grand opinion of himself, although he never ‘cured’ anyone of anything, he just prescribed cocaine and they thought they were feeling so much better...

it’s downloadable here under a slightly different title:

A real eye opener.

I’m actually a big believer in meditation—and most adherents of TM are merely meditating, but the mind is definitely a trippy thing.

It can also be a useful tool with which to manipulate weak people. I also meditate, it’s simply a method of calming the mind.

If he had been an honest man, he would have told them he was teaching them how to meditate...but the guru doesn’t operate that way, he wants accolades and followers.

She created an unbonded needy selfish sociopath.

That may have been entirely intentional. Easier to mold into the monster they wanted.

Sick, sick, people.

She didn’t create him as anything, she didn’t spend enough time with him to do that, it seems he was with the Dunham couple from the age of ten until he graduated from high school, and he was reasonably ok until we find him thanking Ayers parents in the early 1980’s for helping him with his education.
He may have had a high opinion of himself, and was confused about his background, he told his classmates early on that he was an Indonesian Prince, and would be going back there.
Later, after the kenyan visited, he started with the story he was related to Kenyan royalty. There’s nothing wrong with that, just a child making up his own reality.

It seems to me that William Ayers got hold of him early, and used him, and pumped him full of hatred. Just imho.

I never noticed that 45 changed to 44. You can see I’m an aussie, it doesn’t really mean a lot here.

Yes, she provided the raw material, the blank slate upon which the current creature was crafted, whether the product of her loins or not. No one who has a strong sense of identity is easily manipulated. Someone who is not sure of their origins may be more easily manipulated.

If, for instance, you told a child his parents had been slaves of uncertain provenance, versus telling him his parents had been royalty, there might be a profound difference in the child's eventual worldview, despite what people had tried to 'teach' him.

The former has been used to excuse the actions of millions, the latter could have been empowering.

In this case, the lack of identity was essential to Ayres and others of his ilk writing the story to accompany their carefully groomed operative. The more layers of the onion are peeled back, the more it becomes evident that seemingly unrelated people, events, and places do tie in together in networks which might go unanticipated, indeed, unrecognized, if not for the diligent efforts of people to ferret out the connections.

The small irregularities we see on the surface turn out to be the very tips of enormous icebergs, predominantly concealed from public view, and further obfusticated by sealed records...as those who have perpetrated this fraud wanted it.

And I believe she was in poor condition physically, and should have been retired, put on a diet and under the care of a personal trainer who made her exercise.
