To follow on with the Jakarta ‘living at the Palace story’ for the record:

Mayo Soetoro-Ng, Obama’s half sister, has publicly mentioned her grandmother’s “royal blood,” and University of Hawaii anthropology professor Alice Dewey, Stanley Ann Dunham’s close friend and thesis adviser, told me in a phone interview last year1 that:

Lolo’s mother, Ann, and Maya lived inside the royal area of Yogyokarta when I visited them in 1978-1979. She was related to the Sultan, I think probably at the second-cousin level or maybe even the first-cousin level. They — Ann, her daughter Maya, and her mother-in-law— lived in a house very near the center of that walled area, which suggested to me that she had a fairly close family relationship to the sultan. The betang is traditionally the area reserved for the extended royal family of the Sultan Hamengkubuwono. No one who was a foreigner without royal blood could live there.

Soetoro’s familial relations to the Sultan would explain why he received a scholarship to the University of Hawaii East-West Center program. Typically, foreign governments recommend students who have some sort of political connection.

June 1, 1959 Lt. Sutoro enters Brownsville, TX, from Djakarta, via Mexico City, as member of President Soekarno’s entourage, which included “Dr. Suharto”. Soekarno/Sukarno was on a “world tour” at the time. The visit to the USA was “informal,” meaning no state events; the entourage stayed at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles. No confirmation at this time as to whether or not this Lt. Sutoro is the man who married Stanley Ann Dunham (Sutoro and Soetoro are equivalents).

Sukarno visited the US as part of a world tour in 1959, and his entourage included someone named LT Sutoro. No one has claimed to know who he is, it's just a matter of interest and dove-tails with the various reports that Lolo was somehow related to the Jakarta Sultan and his family lived in the palace precinct, reserved for family members only. It certainly would have given Alice Dewey a leg-up into the palace to present the book written by her protege to the 'king and queen' as a result of Stanley Ann's dying wish, according to Maya, that the work be published in Indonesian.

Simone Feldman passed away Sept. 22. Mirnah participated in this process intensely, doing special latihans with her. Deliana also participated. Eeven though Deliana is the national chair of Subud USA, there were no helpers to do special latihan with Simone. Mirnah spent a lot of time with Simone and Reynold and the other caregivers.

RFP is Published!!

The RFP CAME OUT!!! That’s fantastic news for CES. It came out Wed. March 15th. The down side is that the contract doesn’t start until Nov. 1st. And I fully expect AMHD to delay the start date to Dec. or Jan. 1st. Anyway, it’s out now so it’s a reality.

The Pacific Islands Regional Congress happened this past weekend. I was preparing for it most of last week. It went off really well. I’m no longer regional chair. Oksana Vincent, our Ukrainian lawyer is chair; Deliana Fuddy, our DOH bigshot, is vice-chair; Daniel Murren continues as Treasurer; and Oksana will appoint a secretary. That congress was a wild ride. I got one of my migranes and was down for the count Saturday night so I missed the social activities at Daniel’s house. Trisha was there (she’s still here), and M. Isman and Muchtar came as National Helpers. Some folks came from the Big Island as well. We had 20 people, which is fairly huge. A lot of latihan and testing.
I’m a Lion as of today.

Actually, Stanley Dunham existed. Last time I saw her (which was the first time) she was at a party being held by A. Schmidgall-Tellings. The attendees were mostly associated with anti-Sukarno forces in Indonesia. Plenty of former Dutch colonial bureaucrats, etc.
There’s really no reason to doubt she existed. At the same time I would expect the CIA front story for her probably can’t withstand stiff internet scrutiny.

Well there's no doubt that the "PALACE" stub is of interest.

While it may be genuine, it could be salt. By that I mean a lie surrounded by facts. A tweak here a tweak there et voilà a false narrative is created or supported.

Without knowing its provenance it must be taken with a grain of salt.

Mind you I'm not impugning any poster here. The picture is from wtpotus.wordpress.com and they do not provide an explanation of its origin.

Btw, I have no idea if THAT Lt Sutoro is the man we know as Lolo, it’s just the same NAME. The man had a number of brothers.

What is of interest is THE PALACE.
