I will be going to the local soccer pubs to watch some of the games. Great atmosphere. The US is improving in the men's game. US women are the best in the world. I am a big football fan, but it is really a niche game unknown to most of the world. Every country has a national soccer team and competes for a true world championship.

I really have nothing against soccer at all. I have a hard time watching it on TV, but I admit that's mainly because I don't understand what the hell is going on. I was mostly just being a cheeky bastard.

It is a great game. I became a fan in 1970 when stationed in Italy and saw one of the greatest games in World Cup history-the West Germany-Italy semifinal game. I watched in Naples in a hotel bar. It was like being at the game. Lots of passion and excitement.

Learn more about the game. It is not complicated. Go to a local soccer pub and watch a few games. It is a great social event in addition to being a sporting event. I am a a sports nut and have been for more than 60 years. I played basketball, football, and baseball in high school and intramural basketball and touch football in college. Soccer is an incredible sport, especially when your country is playing.
