I’d like to see that as well.

I’ve posted a bunch of Tozer threads recently and a few others over the years and anyone can check to see how much *Catholic bashing* the threads contain as topic.

Well; she’s a guy.

God bless you, dearest Cicero!

Well heck, now I look like an idiot...LOL.

I didn't see your post till just now and I've posted “abandon thread!”

I'm also a convert to the Roman Catholic Church. I could barely wait to turn eighteen to join! I was raised a Methodist and loved Sunday school and singing in the choir, but then afterward I would walk across the street to attend St. John's beautiful Mass. In those pre-Vatican II days, the Mass was in Latin, so by the age of 10, I had it all memorized.

An L.A. radio station used to have the Rosary hour every night and I would listen to it and pray all along with this little Rosary I had acquired from a renter of my parents, who would later become my Godmother.

Of course my parents thought I was “going through a faze,” -— that is until “the faze’ lasted 10 years and I turned eighteen and went through Catechism, and was baptized into my beloved Church.

Speaking of "blood libel" it was a Catholic Priest that posted the following, paraphrased: Protestants give birth to babies at Christmas time so that they can eat them. It took him a while, but he backpedaled on that with a feeble excuse.

One can only imagine what said Catholic priest tells his parishioners about Protestants.

IIRC, the priest was suspended for awhile following those posts, but his posting privileges were restored within a couple of weeks. I suppose that's just another case of the uneven and biased moderation against Catholics.

Than can happen. Not only, but when i described the manner of one such postings without identifying the person (or any) then i was charged with slander and backbiting by the one who found the shoe fit them, thus outing himself/herself!

Indeed. That thread was quite a lesson.

Could you please ping me to the article you posted that brought the unkind and argumentative responses from Catholics. I would be very upset to see that but do need to check it out. I have been aware of some of the nasty back and forth but never could see Catholics that were “on the attack” so to speak. Thanks in advance!!

I just came across the “spiritual works/acts of mercy” which are the spiritual corollary of the “corporal work/acts of mercy". Very interesting, have you ever read them??

Very surprised at the number of posts so I went back to read what the hubbub was about and, of course, the bickering was there. Just read a thread today that contained another really good verse...
2 Timothy 2:14

14 Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers.

If we spent more time praising God and expounding on His works in our lives I am sure He would multiply our wealth of His glories just as He multiplies our tythes.

Now that is a work we could all enjoy and prove that He is indeed in our hearts and in our lives instead of arguing over what we think He says plus show the pagans that we do indeed love our brothers and sisters in Christ and bring them into our loving churches.

Yes, I was also a pre-Vatican II convert. I had learned classical Latin in school, and had read Dante in Italian, so I didn’t have much trouble with the Latin Mass.

In fact, during the lengthy time that the Post Vatican II Latin Mass was badly translated by the ICEL, I would often murmur the Latin version rather than the faulty English one. “Domine, non sum dignus ut entres ad tectum meum, sed tantum dic verbo and sanabitur anima mea.” I don’t know if I’ve got all the spelling right, since I haven’t checked it. Now the new English translation is adequate, but the earlier translation drove me crazy.

Looks like it is 4 to 4 right now with Li'l Johnny Wobberts holding the deciding vote.

Is it no wonder that the poster of this thread said he is aware that the owner of this site, Mr. Robinson, is a Catholic?

He also hoped that Mr. Robinson would continue to "to fight the goof fight."

Oh and yes, the moderation seems to bend over backwards to accommodate Catholics.

But the victim card is played constantly.

LOL. Looks and reads good enough to me! I was just memorizing “words” from age 8-10, and then I better understood when I took first year Latin in the 9th grade! Those were the days!

The statement by CB for which you are defending. You wrote that the original poster was expressing an opinion.

Have you ever heard of the statement:

I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

We can disagree with each other, maybe sometimes strongly, but we should ALL be in favor of one's right to say what they think - especially here on FREE Republic.
