Wrong...To be a true "liberal", you have to buy into one or more of the liberal philosophies (ie; abortion rights. feminism, environmentalism, animal rights, global warming, tax cuts being only for the rich, etc).

Those who are deluded and who are honest but stupidly gullible are merely democrats who haven't officially been indoctrinated into liberalism.

I see where you are going with that, but I think that in general there are a lot of self-defined liberals who would not accept that definition any more than most conservatives would define themselves by the following philosophies: (1) If it ain't in the bible then either its wrong or its redundant; (2) freeing black people was a mistake, let's either reenslave them or ship 'em back to Africa; (3) a good tree is a dead tree, let's pave America from sea to shining sea with asphalt - etcetera.
BTW - you think "tax cuts being only for the rich" is a liberal viewpoint? I thought they wanted to tax the rich.
