Here in Iowa, not long after a new meat-packing plant opened, the surrounding area was inundated with people of the Mexican persuasion. That makes a lot of people uneasy; some are downright angry. Crime allegedly went up. (Double the size of any small town in a year, and realistically, it couldn't go any other direction, regardless of whether the newcomers were Mexicans or Mormons!)
Now, make no mistake, I'm as anti-illegal alien as anyone. But, I'm just wondering, am I supposed to "red-list" the plant because there's a bunch of new people in town who don't look like the rest of us? Or, how does one go about determining whether the plant hires illegals?
