ZOT! All you war-supporters, READ THIS!!

Posted on 05/22/2004 4:03:26 PM PDT by qlo2

I read a thread made about a year ago, where hollywood celebrities were being called all kinds of names because they opposed the USELESS Irar war. Why useless, read THIS :

SIX THOUSAND civilians in Africa die EVERYDAY due to AIDS, poverty and hunger. Let's see, 3000 people died on the day of the 9/11 crash. TWICE the number of people die EVERYDAY in Africa because of lack of food and amenities. As far as I know, the situation in Africa, is in order of 10000000000000 times worse than in Iraq. Infact, although a larger section of Iraq lives in poverty, it is,believe it or not,one of the economically BETTER developed countries in Asia. People in most countries in Asia, particularly in parts of South East Asia, and far eastern asia live in just ABJECT and UNSPEAKABLY BAD poverty, it has to be seen to be believed. However, this is nothing compared to the situation in Central Africa, where living conditions approach the ZENITH. The average person in Iraq can afford to eat no more than two small meals a day. While families in these parts of Africa have to sometimes contend with one meal in THREE days!!!

And you talk about the brutality of Saddam? FYI , last year in a state called "Guajarat" in India(a country with which the US claims to have "strong relations" with, right now) over 20,000 muslims were killed by DEMOCRATICALLY elected leaders in span of THREE days. That's more than what Saddam killed in the last decade of his regime! And what about Pol Pot, under whose regime ONE million Cambodians mercilessly lost their lives? Did USA do ANYTHING about him? And in countries like Sierra Leone and Uganda, the brutality inflicted on people is such, it could make you faint. Atleast people in Iraq have some kind of administration, even be it a dictatorial regime that quells freedom of expression. However, in these parts of Africa, there IS no solid form of administration at all. Farmers grow crops, and host of military gangs simply come to the village and steal the crops. These farmers can do NOTHING about it. These military gangs also take about 50% of the women in every village they go, as sexual slaves. Any man who objects to his wife or daughter being captured has his limbs cut off. And to date, over 30,000 men in Africa have had their limbs chopped off by these gangs.

YOU look at these facts and tell me who needs liberation more? The Africans or Iraqis? If the American Government had ANY intention of helping people in the world, it would have "liberated" the people in central africa or south-far-eastern asia first! Please! Iraq seems like HEAVEN in front of these nations! Anyone who says that Iraq needed liberation is IRRESPONSIBLE, as he is NOT caring for people who need the help of the US MUCH MUCH more!! ------------------------------------------------ So we had ONE WTC attack which destroyed 3000 lives. Guess what?!?! Two tragedies equivalent to the WTC attacks happen in parts of the world EVERYDAY!!

You people REALLY REALLY do not know what is going on in the rest of the world. What these people are saying is : If the money spent on warfare is used to FEED people across the world, MANY MANY MANY more lives can be saved! Before trying to get rid of Saddam Hussain(a person who has travelled around the world will realize that he is, believe it or not, one of the BETTER dictators in this world) WHY are we ignoring feeding starving people(present US Aid funds are very very low, compared to what it is CAPABLE of giving) Or EVEN if you want to punish, names of dicatators MUCH MUCH worse (some have killed more than 20 times the people Saddam has) have lived in this world, and some still continue to live, but the US Government has done NOTHING about them. To say that the people of Iraq needed liberation more than anybody else is LAUGHABLE.

Pol Phott and the Kmerhr Rouge? You're criticizing the US over the "Killing Fields" in Cambodia? It's because of people such as yourself, i.e. the war protestors, who managed to lose the war for the US, that the US military left SE Asia with our collective tails between our legs. And that's what allowed the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of people!

Just another example of leftists refusing to take responsibility for their actions... And blaming the results on others for not cleaning up after them.

Leave Bill Gates out of this. He does more for AIDs in Africa than any other person on the planet.

This loser just doesn't get it.

It's leftists such as himself that are causing the vast majority of the problems in Africa... Hey, Pal. ever hear of Zimbabwe? It used to have the capacity to feed Africa, if not for the tin-pot leftist dictatorships that use starvation as a political tool. But now the Mugabe has taken control of the farms, and given them to his cronies, people in Zimbabwe are starving too.

And then there's AIDs in Africa. Congratulations. You and your leftist cohorts have managed to turn a communicable disease into a civil rights issue. If AIDs were treated like the disease it is, rather then a "cause celebre," it could be controlled. But first, we had to be sure not to offend those who were actually spreading the disease... Fir instance, the outcry by the homosexual community when the Red Cross began denying blood donations from homosexuals, who were at the highest risk of contracting and spreading the disease.

The fact is, that while the loss of life in Africa is tragic, the possibility of Iraq coming up with nuclear weapons was a far more serious situation that needed to be dealt with. Due to Carter and Clinton, North Korea has nuclear weapons, and now it appears that they're a net exporter of technology and supplies. All we needed was to ignore them the way that Korea was ignored for all those years.

Sheesh!

Your boy Clinton, and Madaline Halfbright sat by while 800,000 people got hacked to death.

While they got us involved in the wrong side of the war in Kosovo... Hey, we're still there, aren't we. Where are the demonRAT pols' cries of "what's the exit strategy?"

As Ann Coulter says, "the only time that the dems want to use military force is when it's NOT in the interest of the US."

SIX THOUSAND civilians in Africa die EVERYDAY due to AIDS,

Why should the U.S. spend 15 billion(with a B) dollars in Africa to fight a disease that is 100% preventable? A waste of tax dollars.

Leftists believe that AIDS can only be prevented by throwing money at it, and that somehow a thurd wurlder getting AIDS is our fault.

So it wasn't actually to throw the left a bone, or a payolla scheme for the UN elite?

It may be a mixture of all three.
In some ways, the 'ideas' of leftists are complicated, much like their tax schemes.
And in other ways, they're extremely simple.
Just postulate the most lunatic and America hating idea you can think of, stealth it behind good sounding intentions, and that's what they'll do.
So it may be all three.

Oh, what a powerful argument. I guess we were wrong to defend ourselves first. I'll be right over to join DU.

where living conditions approach the ZENITH

Why should I listen to someone who doesn't even know the difference between ZENITH and NADIR?
