Did you also notice that it says VOID visibly in the background. Photocopies of cashier's checks always have that feature. Payroll checks generally have it as well.
It's not obvious to the naked eye, but copy machines bring it out.
But I DON'T see void on the background...and yes, that IS true. The plot thickens.
