I nearly choked on my supper when I heard mighty mouse Kucinich complain about the republicans voting against thier own resolution.
I wanted to stop him and tell him to ask Charlie Rangel how he feels about that.

Sure, it's always a stunt when someone say put up or shut up.
At least the rest of the world will know where our Congress stands. All the talk of pulling out is nothing but talk.
I bet the terrorists saw a glimmer of hope last night, and got the wind taken out of their sails again.
If I was Rummy, Bush, and Cheney I would have been laughing my butt off last night.

With this vote, Democrats were called out, and very few answered. What's frustrating them is that they can't reciprocate. What would they do, create a proposal opposite to the Republican proposal? What would be the opposite? "A joint resolution to leave troops in Iraq and Afghanistan forever"? That may not work out too well for them on a PR level
DELICIOUS.

This was no "stunt" at all. The democrats got into a staring match and totally blinked.

Now Democrats are backpeddling like Lance Armstrong heading down Mt. Everest with broken brake cables. They say a "sensible" withdrawal could take months. Since when do they care about "sensible"?
//////////////////////////////////////////////
There is method to the madness. The dems are posturing to make it look like the anti-war movement, and democratic pressure forced Pres. Bush and republicans into announcing troop withdrawals. They are doing this because they are begining to sense that the war is being won in Iraq and that will be a huge victory for America, and the republican party. They are just trying to structure things so they get credit for forcing a withdrawal do to republican mishandling and misdeeds so it won't become seen as a victory, when the Pres. announces reductions in troop levels in the next year or so.

You know your party is in trouble when the only ones with great personal and political integrity are some of the biggest dirtbags, weasels and demagogues ever to ooze into the House chamber.
