Gabler is so liberal, I am sure he believes the nonsense.
Secular society is trying to get rid of Christianity. that seems quite obvious. Nevermind the founders for the most part were not secularists, they often mentioned God.
Agreed. This was the equivalent of the RATS screaming "How dare you question my patriotism!!" while calling for us to surrender in the war on terror.
Agree. It was far more than the irritation periodically on display between Hume and Williams. I think Burns was particularly righteous on the fact of 95% being Christian and the minorities controlling the religious an PC agendas of the MSM.
Cal got one good line in there. He said we should let the secularists have their one holidy each year on April first.
LOL.
Does anyone recall Neal Gabler's predecessor, Jeff Cohen? Talk about your basic humorless doctrinaire Marxist! Cohen makes Gabler look like Mel Brooks! Although Gabler's your typical conspiracy-theory lefty, he gives the impression that he can at least share oxygen with Cal Thomas. Jeff Cohen would have acted like, `come the revolution, all you in this studio will be led out in chains to face the people's justice!'.
But you're right, Neal Gabler let the cat out of the bag, the goose is cooked, the fat is in the fire, the jig is up, and the die is cast.
We now know what these media people really think.
That was a riot, and seemed to pass largely unnoticed by the other panelists!
I picked up on a point that noone else has commented on yet. Gabler cited Henry Ford in 1921 complaining about the "War on Christmas". Ford was an out-and-out anti-semite, therefore those of us complaining today about the same thing must also be anti-semites. This is a vile implication
Gabler needs to go to the woodshed for a spanking. He has a bad mouth. Not an intellectual, he's just a wise guy.
I missed that. I would agree that a reference to Ford in that context would suggest an allegation of anti-Semitism on the part of the others.
I have the whole exchange on videotape.:)
Gabler is one of the hardest of the hard "angry" left. One rarely sees him smile.
I joked that I was a conservative trapped in Massachusetts. He replied and told me that he lived in Mass for a time when he was young and has fond memories. We had a nice e:mail exchange.
Wonder if Fox News throws a Holiday, er, Christmas Party for its employees? Things could get interesting around the punchbowl if Neil, Bill, Sean and John turn up!
Yes! They are identical twins, born of different mothers with different fathers!
My wife recently watched an old program where Neil Gabler was described as a film historian. Therefore, whenever I hear him make his usual leftist remarks, I think "Film Historian" and consider the source.
He also said the John Birch society did the same thing in the 50's. So in his opinion, anybody who objects to Christmas being attacked is a right-wing nut. Actually, wouldn't it be fun to klunk gabler and hall's heads together like Moe did to Curley and Larry?
I wouldn't know - I was laughing so hard and so loud I didn't hear what anybody said for at least a full minute.
We should all send Gabler CHRISTMAS CARDS. Anyone have his address.
We live today with what someone has called "The tyranny of the Minority". I'm reminded of the story of the guy who sticks a gun in the face fo the movie cashier and says, "I didn't like the movie. Give me every bodies money back".
I was kinda amused with Hannity & Colmes last night. One guest was a guy I happenned to know from college 30+ years ago. He's a republican congressman from Pennsylvania and new to the TV talk show circuit. Colmes kept trying to get in the last word with him as the closing cue music was going on, but Tim Murphy knew the game better than poor old Alan and, without being obnoxious, just plain didn't let it happen. Colmes has got to be thinking, "How'd that TV neophyte get the better of me like that."
