It is rare to find liberal leaders in Scouting. I don't know much about Cub Scouting so I am pinging some others who may.

Talk to the Cubmaster of the Pack of your concerns and about moving your son to a different Den, Talk to the Unit Commissioner, and the Dictrict Commissioner, Find another Pack, --- all option in the order given.

Yes, you are over-reacting.

The goal of parenthood is to produce a thinking, functioning human being, not a robot who parrots back yourself.

Scouts in my area get great benefit from exploring nature because we have several teachers involved, and we have confidence in our kids to make up their own minds. There is no need for political or religious indoctrination. Kids are especially good at recognizing hypocrisy.
