I guess living in the 'woods' in PA. I am secluded from this type of thing...
I cannot imagine living in America that we still have this going on....
We are all Americans, white, black, brown, yellow, green, purple, orange, blue....does it matter? What do you do if you meet a Black American in the aisle, turn and walk the other way? I have an idea, how about smiling and saying 'HI'...
Yes we have an immigration problem and we should take care of it...its not right for people being here illegally, but to my knowledge the last time I checked, Black America was also America...
I can't believe you people would let this continue...how sad for America....

Black America was also America Not really. A lot of black america has not assimilated. A lot of black america is more different that "little havana" in miami.
there are blacks who are not much different than whites. there are also a lot of blacks that are so outside the mainstream that blacks living in africa or the carribean are closer to the US mainstream culture.

Loyalty to tribe trumps loyalty to nation. Best you get is a stand-offish neutrality - blacks and whites go about their business but totally ignore each other. Both groups feel it's safer to isolate than integrate. And it isn't a class thing, because it happens all the way up the economic scale.
