Honestly, not really. Our cultures are largely compatible.

Just guessing, do you suppose it might have something to do with our history of immigration from Europe, and the assimilation of such.

As opposed to the insular kind of culture inspired by being monocultural for thousands of years in the home countries?

Just a thought. After all, just like most of Europe, Sweden is accepting large numbers of immigrants recently, though obviously not from the USA.

Are people there as accepting in business and socially to immigrants as the USA is to Swedes?

The former Social Democratic Government recently offered a large number of formerly illegal immigrants to Sweden Swedish citizenship. It resulted, among other things, in our population growing from 9.0 million to 9.1 million more or less overnight.

This action of our former government was more or less the same kind of move a lot of people will remember ex-president Ronald Reagan by, because of his generous offer to a bunch of illegal Hispanic immigrants to the US.

Personally, I don't mind muslims coming to Sweden as long as they come here to work and they come in numbers we can handle.

During the last 10-15 years, Sweden has accepted too many immigrants from out of Europe and that even the Social Democratic Party did admit this being a fact in its time.

A sensible exchange between cultures in terms of labor crossing borders, is, for instance, that which is taking place today between the EU and the US. Americans come here to further their career and europeans do the same things on American soil.

Recently America has enjoyed a better economical development than big European nations like Germany, Italy and France. Presently, these economies have been reformed and are now growing two, three times as fast as the US economy.

Perhaps these circumstances will motivate several europeans working in the US to return and even more US citizens seeking employment in the EU.
