Did Glass ever quote Ty the Bouncer with extremely lengthy word for word quotes done completely from memory?
Pied Piper Pitt is Matthew Lesko?
HA!
"I'm Where Celebrity Worship Goes To Die."
Good morning, R. Thanks for very funny post.
Where have you been? We've missed you. Are you posting your great stuff at other sites? Come home.
Obviously it had a 'huge impact' on Temporary Sockpuppet and an unwilling and underage Newton School girl.
For anyone who didn't see American Beauty, it's about a father who has a crush on his young teenaged daughter's friend.
I knew this would have you breaking your Lent!
Seek thee they father-confessor to remind thee that thou art forgiven and thine acts of sacrifice have been overshadowed by The Greatest Sacrifice:
our Lord,
on the Cross,
for you!
You gave away the ending. Bad boy!!
It was one on the few HollyWeird movies I liked.
I always get Kevin Spacey confused with Howard Metzenbaum.
Anyway.
I'm curious as to why the Bostonian Drunkard hasn't been inviting the Leopudlian journalist to his digs; after all, they both work for the same organization, and at one time were close.
Something must have happened, maybe about eleven months ago?
I mean, the Bostonian Drunkard hasn't even posted any articles by the Leopudlian journalist in DUmmieland; someone else not the Bostonian Drunkard does that now.
I'm also curious as to how the Bostonian Drunkard is adapting to his demotion--remember, his title on his articles used to be "editor." Now it is simply "columnist."
I'm not in the journalism business, but I sort of kind of suspect that a "columnist" is lower-ranking than an "editor."
I got my midweek sermon done early this week, so I had a little time. And when I saw it was a thread about Pitt asking Kevin Spacey to his apartment, I knew I had to post the pic of Pitt on his dancepad.
You know, even Lent has its Laetare moments.
Ditto
First post regardin the Spacey Sighting:
....I finally got home around 7pm...But in a space of about 45 minutes, I got two phone calls...My batteries had a little charge left thanks to that, so I decided to head down to my bar for a mug and a few pages of the Lincoln biography I'm reading....The place was Monday-night dead, just the bouncer and the bartender dealing with maybe three customers besides me. Perfect. Ipswich Ale in the mug, and the chapter about Lincoln's early attempts to deal with Douglas open before me.
Second post regardin the Spacey Sighting:
There were maybe three of us at the bar a couple of Tuesdays ago, one of those quiet past-midnight midweek nights when most people are safely indoors,...This low whisper of a Tuesday night found me and two regulars trying to keep the bored bartenders from lighting themselves on fire just so they'd have something to do besides stare at us over the taps.
I remember it like it was yesterday, It was a Monday night, or maybe a Tuesday night. About 8pm, or maybe after midnight. I was sitting alone at the bar reading a book, or maybe I was entertaining the bartender(s). I remember it so clearly because it was SEARED into my memory.....
Dude seriously needs an editor to keep him on track. I guess since he's been demoted to a 'columnist', he can't be bothered with all that 'editing' nonsense...
Whew, thought that post went down the memory hole when FR hiccupped just now. Anyone know what happened? Did I break FR??
Glass put the words into all of his characters mouths much as Pitt does with his underlings.
Pitt doesn't "quote from memory" just as Glass did not write his quotes from his fake notes. They make things up.
I think there must be an emptiness in people like this, a sense that they are invisible, so they fill up the black hole with fakery and lies, and they are drawn to celebrities, even minor ones. To be noticed by a celebrity after thrusting yourself on him is nirvana.
The late Katherine Graham, prop. of the Washington Post, had a name for celebrity-hounds, not nice, but accurate.
I wonder if they'll re-run it. After March madness I can pretty much watch the tv without every program I switch to resembling a basketball game.
I'm not even watching March Madness this year. I usually love the NCAA tournament, but this year, it just seems boring. Maybe it's because LSU is out of the circle, but I'm just not interesteted...
