As you note, the story of her constantly getting in trouble isn’t important. It’s pure fluff. But the story of a sheriff abusing his power by attempting to produce sentences instead of merely enforcing it is a story worth discussing. Just as you write that a story of redemption is worth talking about, so is a story of possible favoritism and unfairness in the justice system.
Though it wasn’t exactly what I was shootin at, I won’t argue it either.
