Reveille is at 0630, so the odds of a Dummie being up and around at that time are pretty bad.

"To the Colors" is played after Retreat at Ft. Hood. Traffic stops for Retreat, not for Reveille, so there's no need for Dummies to hide even if if they are up before the sun. Oh and saluting is for military, civilians just remove headgear and put their hand over their heart. But these facts would only ruin this chapter of the "Dummies Guide to Fascism in Amerika"

IIRC, it's up to the base commander what bugle calls are used, although they're pretty much standard.

I had basic & AIT at Hood (2/81 Armor). But that was many, many moons ago and I don't recall whether Too The Colors was played at that time It's been far too many years for this ol' mind to recall. Regardless, the National Anthem is not on the list.

The 4th of July must be almost as bad as Christmas for these traitors. I don’t question their Patriotism since they have none.

Pray for W and Our Troops

That's when Pitt is throwing up.

Hold on there just a minute. The DUmmies are VERY loyal...to Castro and Chavez.

Yeah, Castro and Chavez would listen to their whining while asking them if they want a blindfold or cigarette.

We are headed down the slippery slope. I have a feeling that in the coming years, Americans are going to wish they had paid closer attention in History.

Indeed. If history has taught us anything that playing the National Anthem in towns across America leads to parades, town festivals, even...fireworks displays. You play the National Anthem today, and where does it end? Drinking lemonade on the porch and waving to passers-by?

The horror!

I'm tired of war-mongering, and that song is a celebration of a moment in war.

It's a celebration of a moment of victory through great sacrifice. The DUmmies would just love the National Anthem if it were a song about the fall of Saigon.

I wish more people truly understood the difference between patriotism and nationalism. Or jingoism.

I sure wish more DUmmies understood the difference.

I could do without it there too, but then I don't go to sporting events

So even though you'll never hear it at a sporting event, you don't want it played because you know there's always some sporting event somewhere, and you can't even stand knowing that it's being played.

There are lots of countries that don't play the national anthem.

Pack up and move to one of them.

I wouldn't stand, as it is not our national anthem.

Obviously, you miss the point of the seventh inning stretch. They weren't standing because "God Bless America" was playing, they were standing to prevent blood clots from forming in their femoral arteries.

So my advice to this DUmmie, as it was to the OP when I said boycott oil changes, is boycott standing up and stretching.

I’ve been reading the DUFUs since the start, and I’m still amazed that people still think like this.

They probably just think you're a jerk, now.

The manager of the service station probably thought you were a jerk when you went there to fill your Zippo with gas.

...and asked him when Wagner was scheduled.

And then he sez to me, he sez, "In light of the situation, 'White Punks on Dope' seems a more appropriate selection."

I share your creep-itude.

Creepitude is one of the traits that all DUmmies share.

I was floored. I wouldn't stand. . . .

Pitt at closing time at Bukowski's.

She said "wouldn't" stand, not "couldn't" stand....
