Uh, this DUmmie doesn't know squat. Reveille is played at flag raising, and Retreat is played at flag lowering. One can see the current list of bugle calls at United States Military Bugle Calls. Nowhere does the National Anthem appear on that list, nor do I ever recall it being a bugle call. Nor should it be. It's the Nation's Anthem, not a call used to announce events.

Another bugle call associated with morning flag raising is To the Color. Just wanted to note that for anyone used to hearing that call.

Thank you. I was in a hurry this morning and did not make this point. In 25 years, I have yet to hear the Anthem as that DUmmie mentioned.
