In one town, activists want him subject to arrest for war crimes. Good luck with that, Brattleboro. The Secret Service may have something to say about it, though, when you try to slap on the cuffs.

A group in Brattleboro. . . . The Brattleboro Politburo.

"This petition is as radical as the Declaration of Independence. . . ." This petition is as realistic as Lindsay Lohan's list of New Year's resolutions.

Kurt Daims, 54, a retired machinist leading the drive. Rage With the Machinist!

"Shall the Selectboard instruct the Town Attorney to draft indictments against President Bush and Vice President Cheney. . . ?" "Shall the Selectboard instruct the Town Treasurer to draft checks for a million dollars apiece for every resident?"
You can draft all you want, but it ain't gonna HAPPEN.
This sounds like an exercise in wishful drinking.

Now if we could just get the rest of the states to adopt such a plan! That little word "if". . . .
To: PJ-Comix
Rest of the states? It's a city, not the state of Vermont. Calling the teeming metropolis of Brattleboro--all 12,000 socialists and burnt-out hippies of them--a "city" is being generous. And it's not even the whole "city" that is seeking this crazy, meaningless gesture.

We take our pleasures where we can find them. The benburch philosophy.

I’m sure the Progressive Danes in Madison WI have to be feeling pretty good about themselves that they aren’t the biggest morons in the country.
It’s funny how “left-leaning” is synonymous with “moron.”

They have been declared War Criminals by the World Court. . . . They could be declared Kumquats by the Food Court, but you still wouldn't want to eat them.
To: PJ-Comix
So no, they'll never come to Brattleboro. . . . Darn! The President was SO looking forward to coming to the Hemp Festival!
To: PJ-Comix
So no, they'll never come to Brattleboro, because they're afraid someone might actually enforce the law. Gomer and Otis are ready to make a citizen's arrest:

If Congress doesn't get it done, it won't be done. It won't be done.

The Hague is good only for trying 3rd world dictators who have already been beaten by someone else, probably the United States. No US President will EVER go there in our lifetime. Don't spoil their Hague fantasy!
To: PJ-Comix
Arresting Bush and Cheney may very well pave the way to their removal. Word. Word: Nuts.
To: PJ-Comix
Brattleboro's gesture is completely meaningless, unenforcable, and illegal. Other than that, it's just great!
To: PJ-Comix
I pray a multitude of cities and states do the same. . . . Gaia, hear our prayer!

could you really ask a beat cop to arrest the President? Better go higher than that. Try Chief Wiggum:
To: PJ-Comix
Okay, I'm from Brattleboro. And while I think it's a nice symbolic gesture, all you people who are hooting and hollering and saying, "Oh, boy! I want to move to Brattleboro!" need to understand that this is a movement of - EIGHT - people. Okay? Eight. The Few. The Proud. The Nuts.

Why do liberal activists keep coming up with such fool stunts? That's how they roll.
