What a thought.....Republican delegates stampeding at a convention......it's our last chance now, I agree.
Who could do such a thing? Not Colin Powell, he won't do it and he's another Bush I holdover with baggage.
Condi is too green, no Big Chair executive experience (she needs to follow Ahnuld in the Governator's chair first).
Newt is hoping for just such a scenario, waiting around in the wings, but the guy's got more leftover baggage than Heidi Fleiss. Women on seven continents hate him.
Fred Thompson has played out his hand, but he would be the best "compromise". Trouble is, the other candidates wouldn't capitulate their delegates to Fred, the delegates would have to slip their traces and just bolt.
I don't see anyone else hiding in the trees, do you?
Mark Sanford, SC.
Not that I think for one second that McVain will relinquish his nomination for anything, even if the whole party goes down in flames but....just to play along with the mythology of an party uprising, I think you’d have to default to a party veteran that everyone likes and has creds on all this issues and has minimal baggage.
I think the most obvious person who fits that definition is Jack Kemp. We could only pray he’d make a better candidate than he did on the Dole ticket.
