It seems Barack Obama made his in 1981 when he renewed his Indonesian passport as an Indonesian citizen. You cannot have divided loyalties with another nation and be President.

Is the US President required to hold only one nationality (legally), or it's a matter of politics: when people know he has two nationalities, they would less likely to vote for him?

I’ve been told by a Constitutional lawyer, who is a freeper, that dual nationality will not bar you automatically from being President.

Not having been born in the U.S.A., however, will make you ineligible to be President.

McCain was born in Panama.

Where was Barack Hussein Obama II born? We still haven’t found that one out yet and he still isn’t saying.
