Somebody please wake me up when McCain decides to start running Rev. Wright ads.

Until then, the rest is pretty much meaningless.

Will these idiots ever distinguish between “Adult Stem Cells” and “Embryonic Stem Cells”??

ASC are proven effective and have adequate PRIVATE FUNDING.

ESC have NEVER WORKED and WILL NEVER WORK, which is why there is NO PRIVATE FUNDING.
If there were ANY SCIENTIFIC OR MEDICAL potential, Government Funding WOULD NOT BE REQUIRED!!

All the radio ads I’ve heard from McCain/Palin are about stem cells! Are McCain’s handlers really so clueless that they think this is an issue that will move any significant number of voters one way or the other? Don’t they understand that talking about stem cell research alienates an important part of their political base?

The task for the McCain campaign is simple — paint Obama as a dangerous left wing kook. This should be easy because that’s exactly what he is. Anything that doesn’t help accomplish this task is a waste of time and resources.

Let’s hear about ACORN, Rev. Wright, and William Ayers. Let’s hear about how Obama and his fellow “community organizers” destroyed the foundation of our credit system by pressuring financial institutions to extend credit where credit was not due. Let’s hear about the Illinois Born Alive Protection Act. America won’t elect Senator Infanticide if it it sees him for what he is. Let’s hear about Obama’s first reaction to 9/11 which was to identify poverty and oppression as the root causes of terrorism. America won’t elect the Kumbaya Kid if it sees him for what he is. We don’t want or need a Commander in Chief to orchestrate an international group hug. Let’s hammer Obama’s proposal for mano a mano talks with the Achmedinijhad and Chavez and the weird statement that Iran is “a tiny country” that poses no serious threat to the U.S. Above all let’s hear about the hundreds of billions in new spending Obama has promised, the tax increases he is certain to seek in order to pay for it and the devastating impact those tax increases would have on our vulnerable economy.

Instead we get ads that fixate on stem cells and when a debate turns to economic matters McCain can only ride his ear mark hobby horse to death and beyond. Let’s hope McCain finds a maeaningful theme soon and sticks to it. Obama is almost unelectable, but if McCain isn’t willing to educate America about his opponent nobody else will. Obama could succeed in playing a sane person on TV long enough to eke out a win.

More likely, the frustrating, themeless campaign McCain is running will be the prelude to a frustrating, themeless preisdency. There were other choices. How could the Republican Party have been so foolish as to back itself into this corner.
