"Protective orders barring discovery until standing is established are normally used only when the discovery would result in disclosure of damaging or embarassing information not related to the case at hand. The only thing in contention here is Obama's citizenship. The production of documents proving his citizenship would stop the suit dead in its tracks and there would be no further discovery or action. So, Senator Obama, enough already. Produce an official copy of your birth certificate

If he can just get this delayed until after the election, which at this point it looks as though he will win, then he will carry sway to create conditions which will prevent investigations, which could most assuredly lead to violence at the intimation of his losing his "win".
I don't think Obama is at that much risk, just look what his cousin Odinga did, after loosing elections, he got his supporters on the streets to fight. As terrorist disrespecting American flag, anthem, Constitution etc. he may be waiting for the right moment. Democrats created doo doo without clean way out. Maybe Obama is already threatening with calling brothers for violence if anything will go against "his greatness"... don't underestimate his ego.
