Well I do not buy this argument for one second because while those politicians might oppose each other - they would not make an issue of this & thus “poisoning the well” because Clinton sure as hell would not have been considered for a post in the Obama Administration if an issue was made out of the topic.

Just because other candidates have accepted, gone on the "say so" method of elections in this country is no reason for the rest of the nation to accept it when question has been raised. Aside from the opinion of this poster, there are three crimes in this country that have no statute of limitations, murder, desertion/AWOL, and fraud.
