I think the party was 1971 to 1973 ~ in that area. His wife Umi made gado gado for use with pork sate ~ very non-Islamic of course ~ but she’d cook pork or mutton or goat ~ whatever the guests would eat. I learned how to make the stuff at that party. Fascinating. Peanut butter and sambal oelek never looked the same after that.
