Im still hoping he rolls over on Obama. Hope is an "Obama" term.
All is going to be placed on the front line with Obama to stop what Blagojevich is promoting rightfully in due process.
Just sit back, enjoy, and use REAL BUTTER on your popcorn. ; )

Look, this crowd are Democrats so they can make up that part. Still, no way they can get a 2/3 majority to keep the new Senator out.
Blago has some more surprises in store for the Democrats. No doubt his ol'lady, formerly Rezco's real estate broker, knows bad stuff about the real estate deals Reid and his sons engaged in back in New Mexico ~ she's just gotta' have friends.

No cause is necessary ... (why, it's just like appointed US Attorneys, but I digress).
Article I, Section 5 gives both Chambers the power to "with the concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member." They could also punish one for bad behavior, but Burris did nothing wrong and he's not yet a member. Brilliant move by Blago the Impaler.

“The Republicans in the senate should insist on voting for Blagos guy (if for nothing else but the theatrical aspects.)”
Insist on a vote and stand in unison with every Republican voting Present. My gosh how I would love to see Pelosi and Reid's face if that happened, lol

If its going to be a complete farce, I like them to bring in a German tuba band to play...

The Republicans don’t have to do more than remind, effectively, about the law.

The issue isn't about race, the socialist crook racist democrats will put a negro in the Senate to replace MUZZIE HUSSEIN come hell or high water.
The issue is whether the RULE OF LAW will prevail.
This is an issue for a court to decide.
MUZZIE HUSSEIN and DINGY REID are not DICTATORS yet.
Maybe they will be after this issue is decided, but not yet

Under teh Constitution, each house is the final judge of the qualifications of its own members. Thus, they can keep Burris out.
What would be the effect if the Democrats vote to keep him out, but the Republican minority provides the necessary votes to seat him?

This is a lose-lose for the Senate 'Rats, and Blago is enjoying the living Hell out of it, you can bet on that. So are we, FRiend! Heard it said this afternoon on Hannity's radio show (Curtis Sliwa was guest hosting) that Burris is an empty suit. We should have little trouble defeating him in the special election that is to follow.

I guess Burris could show up and try to take a seat but he wont have an office, he wont have the creds necessary to even enter the chamber, etc. etc. Imagine what a photo opportunity that would be! It would look like Lester Maddox standing in the doorway of a school fifty years ago!
And since the Congress is sworn in even before the President, this issue may still be festering when hundreds of thousands of African-Americans descend on DC to see their homeboy sworn in.
Dingy Harry might not get it yet, but somebody's going to explain it to him nice and slow in the next 48 hours.

The Constitution requires a 2/3 vote to expel a member. It doesn’t require a super majority to keep a person out. A simple majority vote to accept the credentials committee report is sufficient. This is not a Powell issue, where Powell was re-elected by the voters. Here the appointing governor is under indictment for corruption in the appointment process itself which taints any appointment to the Senate that he makes. By the time the committee reports, Blago will have been impeached and removed from office and the Illinois law will have been changed to require a special election to fill Obama’s vacant Senate seat.
