When to Rebel [Devotional]

Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. Romans 13:3-5

Yesterday's devotions touched upon verse 1 and it generated some interesting discussion. I think we need to be very careful, though, in how we rebel against authority. Romans 13:1 states that existing authorities were established by God. That means George Bush, Barack Obama, Saddam Hussein, and Muammar Ghadaffi were all established by God, like it or not. How they use (or abuse) authority is very different. If they make a law requiring you to do something that goes against God's laws, then you are not obligated to do it.

A very real example is about ready to surface on the national scene. The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) will nullify virtually all federal and state limitations on abortion (nullifying laws restricting government funding of abortion, nullifying laws prohibiting abortions in public hospitals, and nullifying laws requiring that girls and women seeking abortion receive certain information on matters such as fetal development and alternatives to abortion). President Obama has stated clearly that he will sign the bill into law.

Obviously, God-fearing men and women (and others) should really be bothered by such a law. It will require sacrifice as many may lose their jobs for refusing to perform these abortions in a hospital setting. Many will be ostracized for "not getting with the program." Entire hospitals could shut down as a result. While there are clear instances when we should disobey those in authority, we must also realize that those actions may have dire consequences (fines, imprisonment, and even death).

Again, I call on my Brothers and Sisters in Christ to pray for those in authority by name.

If FOCA is enacted it is time to rebel. If persecution begins so be it.

Jesus answered this question for us in very clear terms. "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's."

What is Caesar's (Obama's)? Obama is entitled to any taxes demanded, since he has unlimited force available to take from us. Otherwise, our faith, our trust, our loyalty, and our hearts belong to God. We own Obama nothing beyond what he, the IRS, and his Civilian Security Force can take by force. We owe God everything we have to offer.

The Founding Fathers installed language in the Declaration keyed back to these Biblical instructions, to wit:

“That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, —That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.—Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government.”

We ARE told to be long-suffering.

But we are also told that at some point, we have a duty to resist. Determining that point is the hard part.

And never forget that America was BORN in rebellion.

My greatest fear is that, after over 100+ years of government school indoctrination and the influx of millions of illegals, we are no longer the same people who threw of George, III and the next revolution — if one there be —will NOT end as well as the first.

What ever happened to the heathens anyway?
Many have cried for revival...but what kind of Christianity would we revive? The “Christian” schools/universities have been largely populated with faculty whose worldviews are akin to socialist/Marxist philosophies! (Oh yes, they then send the devils words back down into the public schools (parochial too)) The church can’t keep people in the pews (except becoming a 3 ring circus) because we are so filled with the pursuit of pleasure. It is impossible to peel back the layers of lies and distortion; no one wants to take the time. And if they do, they face the onslaught of choruses’ “Why can’t we just get along” or “Stop stirring the pot “. When the nation of Israel was given the opportunity to go back to their homeland after their Babylonian captivity, only 10% wanted to go back to rebuild! The bottom line is…the USA as we once knew it...is not! Should Jesus tarry, and we were to have another reformation (reform the nation), my answer is “let’s roll”! Sad to say, there is no clarion sound alerting us to what has transpired over the last century. The world has become and is becoming united! We WILL testify with our lives in the not to distant. The truth is, many Christians have and are being martyred in the thousands. That is taking place all around the world, we will be next. I have to weep over, and for, the evangelical church in America (okay, let’s just say the Christian church as a whole). Most are saying, “Jesus is coming and we will be taking out of the tribulation”! Will someone please explain that to the many “MANY” who have died for their faith in Christ around the world today (at this point put your fingers in your ears and testify that you can not hear me) and others have lost everything “EVERYTHING”.
So my friend, we have crossed the line, we have also been neutralized of any attempts to reform our nation, “but God”! We have given the enemy of our souls so many venues to destroy us as a Godly people! Can you imagine, just 40 years ago the Smothers Brothers were released from their television contract because of using the Lord’s name in vain. Wow, what debauchery we endure today on hundreds of channels.
We have just voted evil into office, because of evil media manipulating the airwaves and people. We have been infiltrated by traitors and treachery! The congress will now continue to pass laws of “Legislative THEFT”! That is to say they vote to take money out of your wallet, your benefits, and your freedom even more than they have already!!!

Do you want to know how I really FEEL? Cry for the devastating mental despondency of the Christian community in America; when persecution really comes home to roast here. Oh the arrogance we have blinded ourselves with.
