Pretty sad that the greatest generation sacrifices were for naught. But I've seen that over and over again in families - many times when the parents are hardworking and don't want their kids to do without, the kids end up lazy and many times without any motivation to work hard themselves. Conversely, families with 2 lazy parents do seem to produce the most motivated children. (Just a generalization that of course, it's always true. But IMO it seems true more than 50% of the time).

The “greatest generation” had a clear objective, over seas with America backing them. What the hell does that have to do with where we find ourselves now? Unless you want to make a case the the “greatest generation” came home and spawned this mess.
