It’s a placemarker on their electronic gizmo.

They’ve already been to my house and marked it. My front curb is about 30 ft from the door, so they didn’t even have to enter my yard.

Ideally, the census wants the GPS spot closer to the home. Map spotting on the curb isn't considered acceptable.
