Yeah, what irks me most about this (aside from the obvious) is just what you said.
Trump gets to play Mr Magnanimous, drag out his Royal Decision a few days, and laugh his way to the bank.
But really I don’t blame him.... If I was PT Barnum, I’d do the same.
No, what ticks me off is how the real perp goes unscathed.
Fortunately, mainstream America is getting an eyefull, and they can’t like what they see.

I've known quite a few gay people, and I wouldn't wish this drama queen on any of them!
All I'm saying is, defending Carrie Prejean makes people who are opposed to same-sex marriage look silly. She's an extremely flawed spokesperson, and the tighter conservatives bind themselves to her cause, the further she drags them down. Surely, there are more articulate spokes persons than her, who have way more credibility.
