Our members have families to support and bills to pay, said union president Yvonne Walker. They cant afford the reduced pay that comes with the furloughed time off. Its the governments responsibility to see that our needs are met, especially in these times of economic recession. If it refuses to fulfill this responsibility we will shut it down. Then you get nothing while striking. Compare 0% pay to 86% pay. And because of the progressive tax code, 86% gross is probably equal to 90% net pay.

John, John, John........
Now your satire is TOO close to the truth...
I fully expect the very same arguments you present as satire will SOON be voiced by SEVERAL of the wasteful corrupt and Marxist scoundrels who pass for “Legislators” in Kalifornicate...

Sorry John. I love your work, but satire is a dead art form when ten minutes later it becomes news.

candidly admitted that he didnt think voters would sign petitions to get it on the ballot, much less vote for it on election day.
Typical liberals when you can’t win in the legislature; do the undemocratic thing and FORCE your will by court edict!

I actually couldn’t tell this is satire.
From a “California Liberal Dreamin’” point of view, it makes perfect sense.

In other news...
Taxpayers filed a lawsuit asking the California court to void Prop 98, which guarantees a fixed percentage of California taxes goes to education, and to cap the pay of all employees in the University of California system at minimum wage.

"Voters are not as well informed about the government's need for money..."
Oh, yes we are.

Youngs suit argues that the two-thirds rule is undemocratic because it interferes with the majoritys right to control the states resources. It places the rights of the minority to hold onto their property ahead of the rights of the majority to appropriate it for the benefit of the state. I feel like the AFLAAC duck after listening to Yogi Berra logic. ARRRRRRRRGH!
To: John Semmens
Voters are not as well informed about the governments need for money as members of the legislature are. And as the current fiscal crisis has shown, the two-thirds rule prevents wiser heads in the legislature from acting in the best interests of the state.

That is the biggest breath of bullhockey arrogance I have heard in awhile.

...rule is undemocratic because it interferes with the majoritys right to control the states...I wonder if this guy feels the same way about Prop 8?

"If it refuses to fulfill this responsibility we will shut it down.” --------------------- Sounds to me like a perfect solution and perhaps a quicker way to break the public sector unions. I see a total state shutdown as a good thing. Chaos yes. End result=good.
