There's growing speculation from former aids, political journalists, and even Rush Limbaugh himself that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is considering forming a third party alternative for conservatives. Palin, the former GOP vice presidential nominee who stunned the political world by resigning as governor two weeks ago with 18 months left in her term, also posted a link to a column speculating about such a move on her Facebook page. Two articles, one from conservative writer Tammy Bruce, the other from The Washington Times, suggest she may be considering leaving the Republican Party to form a third party alternative.
Radio show host Rush Limbaugh said Palin may leave the GOP and form her own because Republicans have "been just as mean-spirited to her as the Democrats" have. "When I watched her speech when she announced she was going to leave the governorship of Alaska, I didn't hear the word Republican mentioned once," Limbaugh said. - NewsMax

Well Mr. January 2009 sign up, there were 53% democrat voters in the last election, the republicans got 47%.
Now you want to start a conservative party that would pull all the conservatives out of the republican party which would split that 47% in two and how would that help us defeat the 53% that already find the republican party too conservative?

Maybe she could go outside of politics...we need a moveon.org type of organization...an organization that holds REPUBLICANS FEET TO THE FIRE...and organization that uses the courts like the libs do...we need to fight fire with fire..and we don’t..and that’s why we’re losing this war.

There exists already a second, and even a third party. The Libertarians and the Constitution Party. It would be nice to see someone come along that could capture the devotion of both, along with a plurality of the electorate. I don’t believe that Sara could do that alone, she fits the Constitution Party platform quite well, but she would need to moderate the ticket with a strong libertarian VP candidate.
With both parties behind them, and the support Sara already enjoys, 2012 might just be to close to call.
