At 17, the girl is old enough to have a say in her custody. True, teenage girls ARE drama queens. But this is serious enough a charge that great care should be taken before returning her to the custody of her parents.

No judge in his right mind is going to send this girl home unless he’s 150% sure nothing is going to happen to her. If something happens, he doesn’t want it to happen on his watch.
The Ohio authorities don’t seem to be eager to get her back home either.
