I am from Detroit and I am a Lions fan; erstwhile, anyway. The Lions stink, stank, and have stunk since before I was born. They are lousy, appalling, and nausea-inducing. They are no damn good. Rotten, too. Few can remember when last they won a game. My dad always jokes that in their first game of each new season, a fan in the stadium holds up a sign reading, Wait til next year!.
Because of their rank dismalness, they are, paradoxically, the most-loved football team, and the reason is simple. What opposing coachs heart is not filled with glee when he gazes upon the schedule and sees that he is pitted against the Lions? Several lucky clubs get to play them more than once! Bears fans cant wait for the Lions to come to town. Ecstasy!
The Lions soaring stinkitude is also a blessing to statisticians like myself, because their ridiculous record makes for a perfect illustration of probability.
Last year, the Lions won no games. More thoroughly, they won 0 and lost 16. But this was reason to cheer, because this feat was a record! No NFL team had ever been so bad before. Now, you cannot do worse than losing all 16 games unlessand this is what interests usa team compiles this same spectacular record a second year in a row. So our question is this: What is the chance the Lions lose all 16 games this year?...

Go Lions! screw the naysayers, this is not last years team,
Things are looking up for the Lions...Sixteen stories up, that is.
but I have my own set of values. There is something wrong mentally with these women that would bring them to support a bunch of losers year after year after year ....... Perhaps they are paid (but I didn't think so) but that lends itself to another question. (I am not going to broach it here)
Eyecandy. Yes indeed. I wonder about their intellect. I would at least want to be able to converse at some level.
Hmmm .. but then again ... maybe not.
week 13 ,, bungles DO play detroit ... Palmer will be nursing a bruised (you name it) and will have been out for 6 games, but promising he is getting better. He got bruised, 3 and out, running off the field dreaming he was Rothlesburger.
Ocho Stinko will be sulking in the corner again
Henry will be in jail
Andre Smith will still be at McDonalds finishing his baker dozen of dbl quarter pounders.
Marvin will still be worried about the fans that will question him on why he didn't kick a field goal from 30 yards at 4th and twenty.
And Mikey brown will be counting his money with GLEE
and yet the bungle jungle losers will be sayin “wait till next year”
Nothing changes .... groundhog day ..
This is a simple math problem.
Let’s say they have a 90% chance to lose EACH game this year.
.90^16 = 18.5% chance of losing EVERY game.
Now if we say they have a 95% chance to lose each game then they have a 44% chance to lose EVERY game.
Unless my statistics math is failing me (which it might be).
I wish they would show another team other than the Lions on Thanksgiving.
The day is long enough as it is.
Wish I could help them win but alas they aren’t playing the Chiefs this year.

That’s why we eat lots of turkey and stuffing. It puts you to sleep before the Lions can.
I put the over/under at four wins. What say you football fans, over or under?
Some things never change.
I agree, although I’m from Toledo originally. Thank God it’ll be hockey season soon! Let Go Wings!
The Lions are an appropriate team for a loser city like Detroit.
They win 3 games this year: the Rams, Niners and Browns. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Sounds like the very early New York Mets... they were so bad that they were beloved, for a few years at least.
Well, good luck! I just CAN’T root against Santa...
Under 4. They have a tough schedule, other than playing the AFC West. They probably go 0-6 in their division, and they win one or two games against the Rams and/or 49ers. Perhaps one more freak upset, possibly against the Packers on Thanksgiving, when they tend to get lucky.
