all the new road construction

Michigan is one of the worst states for road construction. Over weight semis and high volumes of them too, destroy our roads. Plus the snow, rain, sleet, freezing, thawing, freezing...etc throughout the cold months really takes its toll on them.

The stimulus money that went to the State is being used to balance the State budget.

I have the PDF from a CPA friend of mine from one of their confabs, But I cannot find it posted on line or have lost the link.

Obama is trying to keep the state afloat via GM and Chrysler quasi or outright ownership and the Stimulus money balancing the books to keep the Teacher and other Employee Unions from doing the reinventing of themselves they need to do.

The Stimulus money runs out in 2011 and Michigan is screwed even worse, that is from another PDF. In that 2nd PDF, the Medicaid/Medicare liabilities are something liek 100% of all general revenues and a massive liability kicks in, i.e. baby-boomer retirees that are state emoployees to put the State under H20 even more.

G_d help us...

A little over 20 years ago, I worked for a contractor doing Weatherization in welfare homes in Detroit. Replaced windows doors, sealed the houses etc.

THe architecture of even common homes was amazing. That these houses were still standing after decades of abuse gave testament to their quality.

It was pathetic how these welfare rats just expected everything be given to them with no responsibility.

I’m awaiting a job offer today or tomorrow that will take me out of this cesspool of a state. Unfortunately, the family will need to remain till we can offload the house. I’ll have a poster on the back of my car for the ride to my new home.

“Another Michigan family blown away...Thanks Jenny.”

I’m also a former Metro Detroiter and I’d have to say that Detroit itself is one of the main problems as illustrated with the Cobo Hall riot.

There was no riot at Cobo Hall - not even close. There were long lines of people looking for a government handout - but no riot.

“I’m awaiting a job offer today or tomorrow that will take me out of this cesspool of a state.”

Good luck with that. I hope it works out. I think Jenny and the rest of the Left are more than happy to have independent-thinking conservatives leave the state. Welfare troughers are much easier to control.

I humbly suggest you wisely choose the location of said dock.
And if it’s anywhere near Detroit, have a fully-fueled and maintained
seaplane tied up at your dock.
So you’ll have a chance to escape when the Sh-t fully hits the fan
and Michigan (well, maybe not the Upper Peninsula) totally burns down.

Is the UP conservative?

I was up in Marquette last spring having dinner in a nice restaurant and saw a well dressed woman with her husband dining at table next to me. She was wearing a “Bush should be in jail” pin on her nice wool coat....just wondering.

I hope that things worked out the best for you respecting that interview. I missed whatever.

I’ve been dealing with the “nuance” of SQL Server, Visual Studio 2008, & Server Management Tool installation (and all the other nonsense that goes with that sort of crap)...
