Buy all the Colts tix you want, it’s a free country.
Just remember the profits are being donated to Democrats.
I don't give a crap. The team is important to the city. Mel Simon was a Democrat, but that company is the lifeblood of Indianapolis. You are way too hung up on this crap. I don't care that the Simons are Democrats. I look around Downtown and I see the things that have been built and have happened because of the Simons in Indianapolis, and I am very pleased. It is a good thing for the city.
Fred Glass is a Democrat, but without Glass, the city wouldn't have the Pacers, it wouldn't have the Colts, it wouldn't have had the Pan Am games back in the 80s (don't forget, we built the Natatorium to try and get that), it wouldn't have had umpteen Final Fours, and it certainly wouldn't have brought the NCAA headquarters to the city.
Without these people, we'd have a vacant Hoosier Dome (remember, the city built that before the Colts committed to come) that would do nothing but host tractor pulls and the Greater Indianapolis Garage Sale.
Like I said, I remember Indy before. I know Indy now. Indy now is a much better place. I don't know anyone that has lived in Indy for more than 25 years that would disagree. Almost everyone that gripes are new transplants to the city, that, almost certainly, wouldn't be living here with the Simons, Glass, or the Irsays.
