President Obama has wagged the dog today; but why?
A: To get his obamacare through.
We need to enact public option health care reform immediately in order to stop the swine flu!
/s
Couple of reasons probably. To make it look like he is doing something other than working to buy votes. And, as a red herring for the real freedom and wealth-robbing atrocities he is working to set up upon the American public.
No offense intended for lunatic asylum workers intended.
You guy's actually serve a purpose worthy of appreciation.
See definition: Wag the dog
We ask, “Buy why?”...ok, here’s a few:
Possibly so the great 0bama can declare the internet needs to be seized in order to ensure the BEST communications possible for getting it under control...and, certainly, those speaking out against the “pandemic” are to be stopped as they interfere with the government’s genuine effort to stop the flu...sound possible?
Orwell spins in his grave.
Would these emergency powers allow him to shut down Fox News?
The purpose of the emergency is probably to force docs, nurses and other health care workers to get the vaccine.
Another “crisis” to help Rahm and Obama. I wonder why the MSM isn’t hammering the WH over the fact that the vaccine has not been manufactured in sufficient quantities and out in the field. Total mismanagement. They hammered Bush over the bird flu “crisis.”
You’re right. It could actually be good entertainment if we weren’t involved.
What a bunch of bozos.
It would be even better if Obama stepped aside and Biden took over. What a hoot that would be.
1) dress rehearsal for later declarations of national emergency?
2) now that its over and he does something, he can get credit for saving lives
3) he dithered for months and finally decided to do something
4) Sasha asked him to so she wouldn’t have to turn in her homework
Just so he can say he did SOMETHING during his presidency.
Compare that to an average of 36,000 Americans who die every year from common, seasonal flu despite the generally wide availability of vaccines, according to statistics provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
Unlike the predictable and treatable annual outbreaks of seasonal flu, the CDC defines a pandemic as a disease outbreak that occurs rarely, spreads quickly and with little resistance, overwhelms health systems, cripples public services, impacts the economy severely and causes high rates of death.
I am suspicious of his motives as anyone, but in this case, it’s meant to free up hospital staff from normal paperwork during an epidememic allowing for faster processing of paitients. Sort of like M*A*S*H* triage. It also frees up Govt stockpiles of Tamiflu for distribution and use on the worst cases.
"... federal rules do not allow hospitals to put up treatment tents more than 250 yards away from the doors; if the tents are 300 yards or more away, typically federal dollars won't go to pay for treatment."
No wonder the health reform bill is too long to read - they're going to regulate everything! What possible benefit could there be to a free society in having the government decide a treatment tent can only be 250 yards from the doors of the hospital? I presume you can apply for an exception if, for example, a flood causes the area around the hospital to be underwater - or maybe you just put the temporary facility on stilts and have the patients swim in for treatment.
No doubt the regulations for government run health care will be just as simple as the tax code is.
Perhaps the White House needs a manufactured crises where they believe the outcome is already safely known that he can appear to be leading us through with great success.
Kind of like claiming the stimulus saved millions of jobs that would have otherwise been lost... No actual proof needed...
If they believe the peak has already occurred then why not make a lot of noise about all the actions they are taking to avoid disaster so they can claim victory as it fades away. Then they can tell us the millions of lives they saved through their wise actions...
