Hoover made a recession a depression; Roosevelt lengthened the depression and altered the foundations of the economy for the worse. Within a short period of time, it was Roosevelt's economy and his fault that the depression had not ended. Hoover was long gone. But the Dems blamed the 1933-41 depression on Hoover anyway, and for the most part, still try to. The word is only slowly trickling out that it was Roosevelt who was responsible for the length of the depression.
